Leadership That Delivers Results for Our Community
Shaheen was appointed to Pickering Council in December, 2016 and has represented Ward 3 with a dedication to the job and is passionate on key issues affecting his residents.
Prior to politics, Shaheen worked in the corporate environment for over 30 years. He spent 25 of those at IBM and continues to work as a self-employed Business Consultant and Facilitator. He consistently applies his experience and business skills in collaboration with the community on City projects and initiatives.
Shaheen was raised and educated in London, England, and moved to Canada in the mid-seventies. He has lived in the Region of Durham for over 20 years and was the proud recipient of a 2014 Civic Award, presented to him by the City of Pickering in recognition of his significant contributions.
Growing up, Shaheen was an avid cyclist and a competitive runner, participating in numerous events. While no longer competing at this high level, he enjoys running and cycling the many trails in Pickering. He may have lost a bit of speed, but his current pace allows him to continue to enjoy the beauty of our trails.
His wife and three children share in his passions and are also actively involved in serving the community.
