Join us online for fun for all ages!

Haunted Ghost Drive-Thru Tour (for ages 12 and up)

Thursdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2020 - 7:00 p.m.

Fridays, October 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2020 - 7:00 p.m.

Saturdays, October 3, 10, 17, 24, 2020 - 7:00 p.m.

Location: 2365 Concession Road 6

Take a driving tour of the historic village at night and hear stories from the past that still haunt us today. Learn about paranormal investigations that have found evidence of spirits and ghosts and hear stories of past. Recommended for ages 12 and up. Pre-registration required click here. Tours start every 5 minutes between 7:00 and 9:35 p.m., 25 minute experience.  Cost:  $20/vehicle.

MakerFest Online

Please join us for the third annual MAKERFEST, the event of the year and a day filled with online maker themed programs! Saturday, October 3, 2020, 10 AM to 8 PM online. Share ideas and be inspired by online sessions and the fantastic technologies available in your community!

Bounty of the Harvest: Apples

Saturday, October 3, 2020 - 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for Adults

Location: 2365 Concession Road 6

Feel the soil between your fingers as you harvest fresh produce and herbs from our orchards and gardens. Learn to prepare, pickle, or preserve it the way early Pickering inhabitants did. This program includes hands-on harvesting, a heritage food recipe, a mini food prep session, and an opportunity to take home what you've made.  Everything can be made in your kitchen at home!  Workshop costs $22 per person.  If you miss this event, there also are Bounty of the Harvest events on Saturday, October 17 and Saturday, October 31.

Virtual Live Education Programs

Tuesdays, October 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2020 - 9:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m.

Wednesdays, October 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2020 - 9:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m.

Location: 3550 Greenwood Road, Pickering

Don’t let COVID-19 stand in the way of a virtual field trip experience for your students with PMV! Grade 3 and 7/8 teachers may choose from a select offering of themed virtual live programs. We’ve adapted some of our most popular on-site program elements into live conference video presentations. We’ll come to you from our log schoolhouse with the help of modern technology!  Programs will operate via the WebEx platform, offered on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.  Call 905-683-8401 and reserve your preferred time!

Program Choices:

School Days - $40 per presentation (40 minutes, Grade 3)

Recess Play - $40 per presentation (40 minutes, Grades 2 and 3)

The Underground Railroad - $60 per presentation (60 minutes, Grades 6 to 8)

Rebellion of 1837 - $60 per presentation (60 minutes, Grade 7)

Early Settler Tours

Location: 3550 Greenwood Road, Pickering

Have the children missed out on field trips the last few months? Looking for something to do outside the house with your family or social bubble? Join us for a 50-minute tour focusing on Early Settlement in Pickering. Featured buildings will include the Log House, Log Barn, and Blacksmith Shop. Although this tour is designed for Grade 3 curricula and includes a toy that school children make and take with them, it is fun for all age groups.  We will follow current COVID-19 guidelines.  Group maximums will be observed, and members of the group must be from the same social bubble.  Cost:  $50 plus HST/booked group.

Blacksmith Apprentice Workshop

Saturday, October 17 and Sunday October 18, 2020 - 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Recommended for ages 16 and up.

Location: 2365 Concession Road 6

Become a blacksmith apprentice for a weekend and learn how to forge at Pickering Museum Village's blacksmith shop.  Join us for a project-based workshop, where you will learn the basics of blacksmithing, as well as the skills needed to be a 19th century blacksmith.

Cost:  $152.00
