Organized by PineRidge Arts Council.  If you love walking or biking along the waterfront from Pickering to Oshawa there are a number of outdoor public art forms close to the Waterfront and Trans Canada Trails for you to enjoy and snap a selfie with. If you are biking check with your municipality or friends as there are a number of detours this season. Dinos and Friends is a socially distanced, fully contactless, drive-thru located at Pickering Town Centre happening July 17 –Aug 1. Your tour brings you back to prehistoric times where you will view our herd of animatronic dinos displayed in realistic scenes that allow guests to experience them roaring and moving from the safter of their own vehicles as they drive their way through the tour.  Baby dinosaurs greet guests and bring big smiles to explorers of all ages.  During the drive-thru experience, guests are guided by an engaging and informative digital audio which is transmitted through your car radio.  Cost:  $45 per vehicle.

1920s Prohibition Escape Room

Travel back in time to the Roaring 1920s and the days of prohibition. Rumour has it that a speakeasy is operating at the Brougham Hotel. Bring your detective team to see if you can uncover the whisky runners and find the moonshine before time runs out. This 45 minute escape room is designed for minimum groups of two to a maximum of 6 people.  Perfect for a date night, a family night, or a night out with friends from your social bubble.  The price of $80 per group for this program is per session (you can bring up to 6 people), not per person.  Presented as part of the Drama in Durham:  War on Whisky tours through South Durham.  Download the Temperance & Temptation podcast and self-guide driving tour to visit local micro breweries and learn how Bluenoses who supported Temperance openly clashed with the bootleggers and moonshiners who defied the movement. Visit the museum in the evening to experience the new Prohibition escape room.  Cost:  $80 per group.

Nestled in Esplanade South Parking Lot, the Pickering City Centre Farmers’ Market is continuing it’s tradition of running a unique outdoor community market. Happening every Tuesday from June 15th to October 5th, 2021 between the hours of 9 am and 2 pm. Come out and enjoy fresh produce, baked goods, meats and more in the heart of our City Centre.

SILENT AUCTION:  This year’s silent auction will be online.  Items in the auction will be available for preview two days prior to the tournament.  Bidding will open up fht day before the tournament – August 12th.

The Golf Fore Hearth Place charity golf tournament supports Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre in Oshawa. All services and programs at Hearth Place are offered free of charge and are not only for the person diagnosed with cancer but, for their loved ones as well. Our programming encompasses all aspects of a cancer diagnosis including individual counselling, emotional support groups, wellness programs, caregiver and grief support, as well as children’s programming, including support for children diagnosed with cancer. Hearth Place does not receive government funding and relies on the generosity of donors and fundraising events such as the Golf Fore Hearth Place charity golf tournament to operate.

Summer Camps

Pickering Summer Camps and Inclusion Services open for registration.

  • Once registered, email registration@pickering.ca to receive a Summer Camp Parent Handbook.

  • Pack a lunch, snack, and drinks daily for onsite camps. All camps are peanut-free.

  • Campers must be minimum age at start of camp.

  • Registration for campers with special needs/requiring additional staff support must be submitted by January 25, 2021.
